A vintage late 1940s suede leather trench coat. This jacket has large hip pockets with decorative buttons, padded shoulders, slightly belled 3/4-length sleeves with decorative buttons, and decorative buttons on the front bodice. The jacket fastens with a hook and eye at the front waist, and it also has an adjustable belt with a buckle. The exterior fabric is a soft, warm medium-brown suede leather, and the jacket is fully lined. The jacket has an I Magnin & Co department store label.
Size: small to medium
Bust: 40" taut, but best for ~37" max
Waist (with hook and eye fastened): 28" (will cinch smaller with tie; eye from hook and eye could be moved to accommodate another 1" or so in the waist)
Hip (measured 9" below waist): 38" with sides touching
Length: 44"
Sleeve length (along outside from edge of shoulder padding to hem): 19"
Condition: Very good to good. Leather has signs of wear commensurate with age and nature of jacket (see close-up photos for examples). Lining is worn near label, and there are some hand-stitched repairs to lining, but neither of these are visible when jacket is worn, or affect wearability of jacket. The belt has one side of a snap on the underside, but I have not replaced the other half--this doesn't affect functionality of belt. There are no breaks in the leather, and the jacket is sturdy and presents well.
